What is couples counselling?
Couples counselling, also known as marriage counselling or couples therapy, is a form of psychotherapy that focuses on improving the relationship between two people, typically a romantic couple, although it can also involve other types of relationships such as family members or close friends. The primary goal of couples counselling is to help individuals within the relationship and the relationship itself to address and resolve conflicts, improve communication, and develop healthier patterns of interaction. Here are the key aspects of couples counselling:
Identifying common goals and working together to achieve them
Developing healthy communication
Creating healthy boundaries
Having fun together
Psychotherapy
Using primarily Solution-Focused Brief Therapy with aspects of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, I counsel adults experiencing Anxiety, Depression, Grief, Trauma, and Addictions. Clients include members of the Canadian Armed Forces and veterans, and men and women dealing with acute or chronic stress. Je suis bilingue. English/français. If you feel like your life has gotten off track, let’s work together to make the corrections you need so you can continue your journey.
